Birth Chart Calculator

Generate your Vedic birth chart (Rasi chart) with planetary positions and ascendant.

How to use the Birth Chart Calculator

  1. Enter your date of birth (year, month, day).
  2. Enter your time of birth as accurately as possible. Even a 15-minute error can shift the ascendant.
  3. Enter the latitude and longitude of your birthplace. You can find these by searching “coordinates of [your city]”.
  4. Enter the timezone offset (India is +5.5, USA Eastern is −5, etc.).
  5. Click Generate chart.

Examples & tips

Example: Born 15 August 1995, 10:30 AM in New Delhi (28.61 N, 77.21 E, timezone +5.5).

Tip: If you don’t know your exact birth time, enter 12:00 noon. The ascendant will be approximate, but the planetary positions will still be mostly correct.

Frequently asked questions

What is a birth chart?

A birth chart (also called a natal chart or Rasi chart) is a map of the sky at the exact moment and place of your birth. It shows where the planets were, which sign the ascendant was in, and how they relate to each other.

What is the Lahiri ayanamsa?

It is the most widely used correction in Vedic astrology that accounts for the slow wobble of Earth’s axis. It keeps the zodiac aligned with the fixed stars.

Why do I need to enter exact birth time?

The ascendant (Lagna) changes every 2 hours, and the Moon changes sign roughly every 2 days. Without a precise time, your ascendant and house positions will be wrong.

Is this a complete Vedic analysis?

No. This shows the planetary positions and ascendant. A full analysis also includes divisional charts, dashas, yogas, and aspects — consult a qualified astrologer for those.
