Kundali Matching

Calculate Ashtakoota compatibility score (36 points) from birth details.

This tool uses the Lahiri ayanamsa and a low-precision Moon model (±0.3°). Results are for reference; consult a qualified astrologer for important decisions.

How to use the Kundali Matching

  1. Enter the birth date and time of both people.
  2. Select the time zone (India Standard Time by default).
  3. Click Match to see the Ashtakoota scores.

Accuracy note: birth time within an hour or two is essential for Moon sign and Nakshatra accuracy. A birth chart’s full analysis involves many more factors than the eight kootas shown here.

Examples & tips

Interpretation: 18–24 points is generally considered acceptable; 25+ is favourable; 32+ is exceptional. However, a low score is not a verdict — an astrologer may consider other factors.

Frequently asked questions

How is the score calculated?

The tool follows the traditional Ashtakoota system: Varna (1), Vashya (2), Tara (3), Yoni (4), Graha Maitri (5), Gana (6), Bhakoot (7), and Nadi (8) — 36 points total.

Do you need exact birth time?

Yes. Moon sign and Nakshatra change every few hours. Without an accurate time, the result can be off by a Nakshatra or more.

Is this the same as a professional consultation?

No. This is a reference tool based on the standard Ashtakoota method. A full Kundali analysis also considers planetary positions, dashas, and divisional charts.

Which ayanamsa is used?

Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, the most common convention in Indian astrology.
